Financial Assistance
There are a variety of ways HPAI infection can result in financial losses. Certainly, the lost milk production and costs of treating and nursing sick cows. It’s unclear whether cows will reach their full production potential during subsequent lactations. There have also been secondary bacterial infections such as pneumonia. Some herds have experienced significant embryo or fetal losses with abortion.
Understandably, during this declared state emergency, producers are asking what financial assistance may be available. Here are some of the best resources.
